It’s rare for an architectural studio to design not just a building, but a streetscape. With Harlyn, Proekt was given that opportunity — to respond not only to the coastal conditions of Jindalee, but to the presence of Saunton across the road. Rising five storeys, the building embraces its western edge to capture ocean views, with deep balconies and sculpted forms shaped by sun, breeze and horizon. Balancing aesthetics with performance, the facade is inspired by the raw edges of limestone outcrops and the sculptural rhythm of the dunes. The result is a structure that holds its own, yet feels entirely of its place.
